Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use this website. The short version: the calculators run in your browser and your figures never reach us.

The short version

Last updated: 25 October 2026.

The calculators on this site run entirely in your web browser. The figures you type in are worked out on your own device: they are never sent to us, never stored on a server, and we could not see them if we wanted to. We do not ask you to sign up or open an account. The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send us by email.

What we do and do not collect

Calculator figures: none. Every calculation happens locally in your browser. When you close the tab, nothing about your salary, hours or holiday is left with us.

Share links: the Share Link button packs the figures you entered into the web address itself, so the person receiving it sees the same calculation. The figures travel inside the link, not through our server, so anyone who has the link can see them: treat a share link like the numbers themselves.

Email: if you write to us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use them to reply to you, and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your address to anyone.

Server logs: like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard logs — the page visited, the time, the browser used and the country the request came from. These logs help keep the site secure and show us which calculators are used most. They are never combined with calculator figures, because we never have those.

Cookies and local storage

The site itself sets no cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising. It stores one small item in your browser's local storage: a note of whether you have pressed Accept on the cookie message, so the message does not reappear on every page. It contains no personal information. You can clear both at any time in your browser settings; every calculator will still work. Our Cookie Policy covers this in full.

Advertising

We do not currently show advertising on QuickProRata, and no advertising cookies are set by this site. That may change one day: running the site costs money, and advertising is the obvious way to pay for it while keeping the calculators free.

If we introduce advertising — through Google AdSense, for example — the adverts may use cookies, set by Google and its advertising partners rather than by us, to personalise what you see and to measure how adverts perform. Before any advertising goes live, we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy, and the cookie message on the site will explain your choices, including how to opt out of personalised adverts through Google's Ads Settings. Until then, this section is deliberately written as “if”, because that is the honest position.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law — the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — you have rights over your personal data. You can ask what personal data we hold about you, see a copy, have mistakes corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and object to how it is used.

In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold about you is the content of an email you have sent us. To use any of these rights, write to [email protected] and we will deal with the request. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Significant changes — advertising or analytics being introduced, for example — will be flagged plainly in this section.
